What are updates for on your WordPress site?
Don’t underestimate the importance of technical maintenance on your website
Most people are not aware of this issue, and even ignore it because of a lack of time and/or skills.
A WordPress website can’t live forever without updates. Without regular maintenance, the site will quickly become dysfunctional.
If you don’t update your WordPress CMS, the theme you use or the extensions you add to create a website, expect :
An obsolescence of your site's graphics/design or certain links no longer loading, not great for the site's image?

Having your site hacked by malicious people, and then no longer having control over your own site - what a disaster?
Spread a virus on your users' computers, and they won't be coming back anytime soon?
My recommendation to avoid all these problems: at least 2 updates per year for a showcase site. We strongly advise you to do more for sites with more functionalities, such as e-commerce sites.
